# Home Screen Widgets > Add spending widgets to your home screen. See weekly or monthly totals at a glance. Source: https://spentrip.app/help/home-screen-widgets ## What Are Home Screen Widgets? Spentrip widgets put your spending totals on your home screen so you can check them without opening the app. Available on both iOS (14+) and Android, widgets show your current spending, how it compares to the previous period, and which direction the trend is heading. You can add multiple widgets with different configurations — one for your personal spending and another for a work trip, for example. ## What Widgets Display Each widget gives you a quick snapshot of your spending: - **Current period total** — your spending for this week or month - **Previous period total** — last week's or last month's total for comparison - **Trend indicator** — percentage change with up, down, or flat arrows showing the direction - **Trip name** — which trip this widget is tracking ## How to Add a Widget ### iOS - Long-press on your home screen until the icons jiggle. - Tap the **+** button in the top-left corner. - Search for "Spentrip" in the widget gallery. - Choose your preferred size (small, medium, or large). - Tap "Add Widget" and position it on your screen. - Long-press the widget and tap "Edit Widget" to configure the trip and period. ### Android - Long-press on an empty area of your home screen. - Tap "Widgets" from the menu that appears. - Find Spentrip in the widget list. - Drag the widget to your desired position. - Configure the trip and period in the setup dialog. ## Configuration Options Each widget can be customized independently: ### Period Choose between weekly or monthly totals. The widget shows the current period alongside the previous one. ### Trip Select any of your trips. Add multiple widgets to track different trips simultaneously. ## Tips and Details - Widgets auto-update when your app data changes. The minimum refresh interval is one hour, so very recent expenses may take a moment to appear. - Widgets only show spending totals, never individual transaction details. Your expense specifics stay private even on a shared lock screen. - Widget data is stored locally on your device using App Groups (iOS) or local storage (Android). Nothing is fetched from the network by the widget itself. - iOS supports small, medium, and large widget sizes. Android widgets have configurable sizes that you can resize after placement. - You can place multiple widgets with different trip and period combinations to monitor several budgets at once. ## Related Articles [Charts and Analytics Dive deeper into your spending data with full reports.](/help/charts-analytics.md) [Trips Organize expenses into personal or shared trips.](/help/trips.md) [Control Center One-tap expense tracking from iOS Control Center.](/help/control-center.md)
